The Peter's Map is a map projection that chooses to emphasize proper size proportion, and thus forfeits accuracy in country shapes. You just can't project a spherical world onto a flat sheet of paper without some kind of distortion. A common misconception, corrected by a Peter's Equal Area Projection World Map, is that Greenland is so very, very large. By viewing it on a globe or equal-area projection map, you can see that it is not as huge as commonly thought. A panel on the bottom of the equal area projection map shows how size distortions occur. This world map is available as a wall map in one size (52" x 35").
