1846 Western United States Antique Map Reproduction
See the Western Territories of the United States as they were in 1846. Augustus Mitchell's landmark map of the American West included the new state of Texas, the Oregon and Missouri Territories, Upper California and more. Mitchell collected data from earlier maps and explorations - Lewis & Clark, Fremont, others - to create a comprehensive record of this region and what became the most popular map of the West in its time. Brigham Young owned copies of this map when preparing for the Morman westward migration.
Very nice colors, terrain shading and detail make this map great for decoration or a history lesson! Large, historic map reprint of the Western United States.
