Every 29 1/2 days our moon completes its revolution around the earth and appears in the sky as full. It is always a wonderful sight to see. The National Geographic Moon poster is a double hemisphere image showing the near side and the far side of the moon. A sequence of drawings shows the various phases of the moon, from new moon, to waxing crescent, to waxing gibbous, to full, to waxing gibbous, to last quarter, to waning gibbous. Numerous craters are labeled. Seas (maria) and mountain ranges are also named.
