The Northern British Columbia Backroad MapBook covers the entire northern half of the province from Prince George to the Yukon / NW Territories border. The two main highways that bisect the region are the Alaska Highway and the Stewart - Cassiar Highway. This area is very remote. The landscape is diverse - with the Rocky Mountain trench, the northern Rocky Mountain spine, prairies, farmland and coastal inlets, there are vast unsettled areas with many lakes and streams for fishing and recreation.
