Since the first edition of the Railroad Atlas of Great Lakes West was published much as changed. This all new edition, updated in 2005, not only incorporates all those changes, mergers, ownership changes, and abandonments, but also for the first time the extensive network of interurban electric railroads and logging railroads that once covered Illinois, Wisconsin, and Upper Michigan along with greater detail and clearer presentation. The atlas shows all currently operated common carrier, tourist, and major industrial railroads along with abandoned routes.
